Your accountant opens it free. No account, no seat fee, no setup.
Complicated year, thousands of DeFi rows, or you simply do not want to reconcile it yourself. You do not need to. Your whole workspace exports as one file, and any accountant can open it in the app at gains.tax in their browser, free. They see every transaction, every matching rule, every figure with its citation, and can send the file back the same way.
How it works, three steps
One, in the app choose Export session, which saves a single file to your machine. Two, send that file to your accountant however you already share documents with them. Three, they open gains.tax/app in any browser and load the file. That is the whole process. Nothing is uploaded to us at any point, the file travels between the two of you.
Why accountants like it
No software to buy, no seat licence, no client portal to learn. The workspace shows its working, every disposal names the HMRC matching rule behind it, section 104, same-day, bed and breakfast, with the numbers laid out the way working papers should be. Review, annotate, export back. Most practice tools charge per client per year for less.
Do not have an accountant?
The professional directory lists firms who work with crypto clients and know this app natively. If your year is genuinely tangled, an hour of a specialist's time often pays for itself several times over.
Or send a sealed link, live now
In the app, Share securely seals your whole workspace in your browser before anything moves, then gives you a link your accountant opens in theirs. We store a box we cannot open, the decryption key rides in the link itself and never reaches us. Links live for 7, 30 or 90 days, your choice, and revoke with one click. Opening a share never touches the accountant's own workspace, it loads session-only until they choose otherwise.
