Importing from CoinTracking
This page is a stub. The full guide is written against the shipped app version and is on its way.
Export your trades from CoinTracking as CSV and bring the file to Import in the sidebar.
Preview first, always. The import shows what it read before anything is added, rows in the file against tax events created, with each difference explained. CoinTracking’s classifications carry across where they map cleanly, trades, transfers, staking income, fees, and anything ambiguous is queued in Reconcile for your judgment rather than guessed.
Why recompute at all. CoinTracking is calculation software too, but its UK support and gains.tax’s differ in one visible way, here every disposal names the matching rule and the legislation behind it, and the rules themselves are published with their proofs on the verification page. You are not asked to trust a different answer, you are shown why the answer is what it is.
The usual two rules of thumb. Import the complete history so the pools price correctly, and check Reconcile before Reports, ten minutes there is the difference between defensible and hopeful. Overlapping exports from multiple sources are deduplicated at preview, see duplicates.
